About the ServeMinnesota Education Foundation
The ServeMinnesota Education Foundation was established in 2011 to support the growing strategic initiatives of ServeMinnesota. The ServeMinnesota Education Foundation directs charitable resources to education programs closing Minnesota's achievement gap.
Minnesota Reading Corps is a statewide program to help every Minnesota child become a successful reader. The program matches trained AmeriCorps tutors and community volunteers with children from age 3 to grade 3 who are at risk for not reading at grade level. This proven approach helps more than 30,000 struggling students each year. Since 2003, Minnesota Reading Corps has helped more than 170,000 students get ready for Kindergarten and on track for 3rd grade reading.
Minnesota Math Corps helps 4th - 8th grade students who need assistance with math. The program trains tutors in research-based math instruction methods and places them in sites such as elementary and middle schools. This evidence-based program model is designed to ensure students are prepared for high school algebra and on track for successful high school graduation and college admission. Since 2008, Minnesota Math Corps has helped more than 15,000 students reach math proficiency by 8th grade.
