Sydney is a graduate of Macalester College where she holds a B.A in English Literature and Legal Studies. Sydney originally hails from Birmingham, AL but her love for Minnesota was so large she opted to bear the winters to stick around. Sydney has a passion for people and mission-based community engagement. Her nonprofit career started out as a love for broadening her personal community and has grown to seek to expand the capacities of communities driven to help young people reach their greatest educational aspirations. Sydney has worked with many youth facing initiatives and non-profits such as Breakthrough Twin Cities, Minneapolis Youth Coordinating Board, Minnesota Alliance With Youth. Sydney has served three terms as an AmeriCorps member and credits much of her ability to thrive and develop as a young professional to those opportunities. She currently holds the Manager of Executive Support, Board Administration, and Special Projects at Teach for America Twin Cities.
